The LKTP compact system: maximum flexibility and efficiency

The LKPT compact system is the heart of a painting and drying system and is often referred to as a “unit”. It provides heated and conditioned fresh air or recirculated air for the process.
These systems are used in the automotive sector and in numerous other industries in which products are painted or coated. Optimized through decades of experience and technical expertise, the LKTP compact system offers the optimum solution for a wide range of customer requirements. The heating and air outputs are matched to each other and the system impresses with its low energy consumption thanks to its high efficiency. Direct heating as a particularly efficient and cost-effective method

As a solution provider for the most efficient heating option possible SCHARR TEC has been the right partner for LK Metallwaren for 12 years. In principle, there are many different ways to generate process heat. For example, heating can be generated indirectly by combustion chambers or pumped hot water. However, many end customers opt for direct heating using gas surface burner from SCHARR TEC. With this method, the heat is completely introduced into the process without any losses, which makes it extremely effective and cost-effective – both in terms of consumption and purchase price.

The SCHARR TEC “ARGOS” as the optimum burner for the LKTP compact system

Our ARGOS burner series was specially developed for direct air heating. The ARGOS can be used with various fuel gases such as natural gas, liquid gas, biogas or, in the future, hydrogen and works in negative pressure, back pressure or with alternating pressure. The burner can be modulated continuously in a power range of 1:50. This means that one burner can cover both a high peak load and a low low load. With 100% energy input into the process, the ARGOS guarantees optimum energy efficiency. The high heat output is perfectly rounded off by the functional and operational reliability, making the burner the perfect module for a wide range of applications. Drying and heating with the LKTP compact system using ARGOS

How it works simply explained Painting:

  • The switchover flap is in the “Paint” position.
  • The air fan draws in fresh outside air and transports it via the burner into the painting and drying processes.
  • The exhaust fan simultaneously extracts the polluted air from the spray booth.
  • The burner is controlled depending on the supply air temperature.

Drying:

  • The switchover flap is in the “Drying” position.
  • The supply air fan works as a circulating fan. It draws in the preheated air from the drying booth and transports it back into the painting and drying booth via the burner.
  • Drying processes.
  • The exhaust fan is not running.
  • The heating system is controlled depending on the supply or recirculating air temperature.
  • Fresh air can be added via an adjustable flap.
